Japanese Patent Office（JPO）IPAS 2019 Achievement Presentation “Demo Day
Our CEO Tosu spoke at the online event of “Demo Day”, the result presentation of the IPAS 2019, an intellectual property acceleration program that accelerates the growth of JPO startups in terms of both business and intellectual property.
Event overview
At IPAS2019, three months mentoring was conducted for 15 companies, selected from the total of 111 applicants from the viewpoint of business potential and the need for intellectual property support. At this Demo Day, the results obtained through IPAS 2019 were announced by the supporting companies including our company.

Outcome
We could strengthened contracts and patent strategies for joint research and licensing alliances with pharmaceutical companies, expanding our perspectives on intellectual property and business.
At our company,
because of the business model of developing new drugs through license tie-ups and joint research with pharmaceutical companies for drug delivery technology, strengthening contracts and patents was an issue, but for mentoring at IPAS, the person in charge of intellectual property In addition, R&D director, clinical development director, business development director, business administration and finance director also participated.
We asked mentors to check existing contracts with several business partners, and received advice on the market view of patent fees and the viewpoint of evaluation of pharmaceutical companies for patents.
In discussions with mentors, it was a great achievement that we got not only perspective on intellectual property but also perspective on business.
